Last Friday, Innovation Team Co., Ltd. was honoured to attend the “Think Green, Eat Smart: Annual Dinner and Catering Industry Recognition 2026” hosted by the Hong Kong Smart Catering Association (HKSCA) . It was an inspiring evening that brought together government officials, catering industry leaders, and technology solution providers, all sharing a common goal: accelerating the digital transformation and green evolution of Hong Kong’s catering sector.

The HKSCA has long been a driving force behind the adoption of smart technologies in the food and beverage industry. This year’s annual dinner placed a special emphasis on how Internet of Things (IoT) technology and data-driven tools can help restaurants and commercial kitchens reduce waste, improve operational efficiency, and meet increasingly stringent environmental standards. As a smart catering solution provider in Hong Kong, we are proud to support the Association’s mission and contribute to this important conversation.

A major highlight of the evening was witnessing the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on IoT Collaboration between the HKSCA and the Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI)  This landmark agreement establishes a framework for both organisations to jointly explore how IoT infrastructure can be integrated into professional culinary training environments, bridging the gap between academic research and real-world kitchen operations.

The collaboration signals a significant step forward for Hong Kong’s catering industry. By embedding smart technology into one of the city’s most respected culinary training institutions, the initiative will help nurture the next generation of chefs and kitchen managers who are fluent in both culinary arts and digital tools. It also serves as a model for how catering digital transformation can be implemented systematically, from the classroom to the commercial kitchen.

These IoT sensors continuously track critical parameters such as temperature, humidity, and air quality within the kitchen environment. For the CCI, this system will also serve as a hands-on teaching tool, giving students direct exposure to the kind of smart kitchen technology that is rapidly becoming the industry standard.
